In my opinion, you shouldn’t take something because it’s easier or harder. You should take something because it’s more interesting. I’m not really sure what is taught in grade 12 geography courses but in grade 12 biology, you are taught many “human” complex systems. For example, you learn the nervous system and how messages are sent. As well, in Toronto (Canada), you learn ecology and evolution (which I think is a bore). You also learn cellular respiration and photosynthesis in a much more detailed way. As well as that, you learn how proteins are made and how DNA is replicated.

In Layman’s terms it is just little organisms that help break down larger molecules. For example, people that are lactose intolerant can not metabolize lactose. They lack the enzyme Lactase that helps break it down into digestible matter. All sugars end in -ose and all enzymes end in -ase. Each sugar has an enzymatic counterpart. Hope that helps.
