A mulitplicative inverse of a number is a number that, when multiplied by the initial number, will give you 1. It is also called a reciprocal, if that sounds more familiar.

All you do is flip the number around. So the inverse of 2/3 would be 3/2.

3/2 x 2/3 gives you 1, right?

And if asked the m. inverse of a whole number, such as 5, remember that x/1 =x. So the m. inverse of 5 is 1/5.

Hope this helped! Good Luck!

multiplactive inverse of 2/3 simply means to “flop” the fraction the inverse of 2/3 is 3/2

check on calculator

1/(2/3)= 1.5

take 2/3 to get .6666666667 (six repeating)

then take 1/.6666666667 = 1.5 = 3/2
