Germinal by Emile Zola is a good classic novel about the French revolution and industrialism. It is set in the 1860’s coal mines and focuses on class-ism and Marxist ideology. It’s pretty good.

Dickens might be a good choice of an author for those subjects, as you could read A Tale of Two Cities, Hard Times, or Bleak House.

not to be generic here, but Tale of Two Cities is about the French Revolution.
