The ancient Olympics were not the hyped up event that we enjoy today. All participants were male, they performed in the nude, and there were no medals. Are the legendary stories believable? Why not? These were, after all, the best of the young men in that society, they trained for these events, they didn’t have to have fourteen part time jobs to sustain themselves. History has a way of embelishing things, but they must have performed at a pretty high level for that era or history would not have remembered anything about them.
