An explanation of the family ties in Oliver Twist?
This is how I think it is written (and please correct me if I am wrong because I’m sure that I am):
Leeford is the father of Agnes who is sister to Rose. Agnes had an affair with a married man, leading to the birth of Oliver, making Rose Oliver’s aunt. The affair between Agnes and the married man caused Monks to be Oliver’s half brother.
Except, I really don’t think that’s even close to being right because I’m not sure if Leeford was Agnes’s father or if he was the man that Agnes had an affair with?
It would be really great if someone could clear this up for me! :]
Thanks!
