Just simply it into numbers and letters as best you can.

First multiply the stuff in the paragraphs:

3 (2-c) – c becomes:

6-3c -c = 6 – 4c

That’s the answer

Simplify doesn’t always mean give a number answer, just put in simplest terms. Here, you need to distribute the 3 to the c and the -c, which makes it 6-3c-c. -3c-c=-4c, so the answer at the end is 6-4c.

it’s 6-4c

step1: 3 x 2= 6

step2: 3 x -c= -3c

step3: -3c -c = -4c

You don’t have to know.

If you did, it would say solve.

3(2 – c )- c

Remove brackets by multiplying contents:

6 – 3c -c

Collect like terms:

6 – 4c
