From what I see in your thesis, it seems that you are making more of a critique on society than the book itself. I have not read the book myself, but unless your teacher is asking you to directly relate your chosen literature to modern society you are not address the work. I would recommend targeting a specific aspect of your novel and identify how that expands the themes and relation to its literary genre. For example, you could argue that the use of metaphor appreciates the value of your characters’ disassociation with society and thus presents it as a valid peice of post-modern literature. You ceartainly don’t have to go that deep, but try to concentrate on the work, unless it is your assignment to venture into its relation to society.

You might be interested to watch an episode of the old “Twilight Zone” television series. The title of the episode was “The Eye of the Beholder”. Another, also similar to the theme of your thesis was “The Masks”. I don’t know whether these old shows are on video or DVD, but I am certain that you can find books which review these old shows. The one I have has pictures from every episode , and would be great for your paper..

You do realize that since your thesis is based on a science fiction series that you will have a lot of freedom to explore different aspects of the subject of human personal appearance, even possibly suggesting some sort of governmental regulated change which is subject to further change as different groups assume control. BR-r-r-r-. That’s a scary thought, huh?
