then do any multiplication or division in the order they come in the equation, whichever one comes first gets done first

Last is any adding or subtraction in the order they come in the equation

so 12/9 – 8 + 125/9

= 7.2 repeating

OR

(12/9 – 8+125)/9

which equals 13.148 with the 148 repeating

as for the order of operations PEMDAS

parenthesis first then exponents then multiplication AND Division then addition AND subtraction. If its just addition/subtracton or mutliplication/division then go from left to right

1. parentheses

2. exponents

3. multiplications and divisions, working from left to right

4. additions and subtractions, working from left to right

12/3^2-2^3+5^3/3^2

[the number after ^ is the exponent]

Parenthesis fist, exponents second, multiplication and division third, add and subtract last.

I didn’t see you put any 2 numbers in parenthesis so move onto exponents first.

(12) / (9) – (8) + (125) / (9)

Now move onto division

(12/9) – 8 + (125/9)

multiplication and division from left to right. Addition and subtraction left to right. Look for each thing listed above and do it in order.
