Advanced Mathmatics. This will finish up your Geometry concepts, give you some extra practice at algebra, and get you into trig and pre-Calculus. This course was designed to be taken over two years and be counted for two math credits. Or if you desire to get on to Calculus sooner, take it in one year, but you’ll have to double the time you spend on Math.

It is actually not the one that covers Advanced Placement Calculus, that is Saxon’s actual Calculus book. If you follow up with their calculus book you will have taken University level Calculus.

Saxon is a little different – within their two algebra courses they also cover the elements typically found in a high school geometry course, hence the reason they don’t *seem* to offer high school geometry, and their pre-calculus course is called Advanced Mathematics. So, after completing Algebra 2, you would move to Advanced Mathematics, then Calculus (if you had another year of math).

I haven’t seen the Math U See books for Algebra 2, but my daughter really did well with the MUS Algebra I and Geometry books.

Advanced mathematics; this book combines algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, or Calculus, this book covers advanced placement calculus.

Either one can be used on a 11th, or 12th grade level.
