Which do you think is better, homechooling or public school?

I wanna homeschool bcuz i wanna graduate earlier. i’m gonna take a 2 yr. course and graduate this yr..another reason y i wanna homeschool is bcuz im sick of my school i barely like ne1 from my school i only like a couple of ppl. and then im also sooo sick of my teachers and then im never early to school im alwaz late and then that just messes up my grades and credits and stuff. The good thing about homeschooling is that i can wake up anytime i want to and i work at my own pace and i can graduate earlier.

Public schools are evil. They don’t teach; they indoctrinate. The don’t teach spelling. They don’t teach grammar. They don’t teach arithmetic. They teach and encourage sex at earlier ages. They teach false history. They train students to be good serf and to love and trust the government.

I don’t really think there is a better or worse, since no one schooling option is right for everyone. However, solely based on what you’ve written here, I think homeschooling could be a very good option for you.

It sounds like you’re motivated and can get the work done, which is what is required with homeschooling. It also sounds like you don’t require the social atmosphere and competition of a classroom to get ahead, so that’s another plus. (Do find some social outlets, though – join a homeschooling group or some sort of a class/club that is centered around your interests, something like that.)

Here’s a link that will tell you how to get started, just click on your state: http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/default.asp

You also have several options as far as curriculum. You can go with on online school, or you can put together your own curriculum. Homeschool diplomas and transcripts are legit in every state and accepted by pretty much every university/college, so you only need to worry about accreditation if you’re planning on going back into public school sometime in the future.

Hope that helps!

Yes, try homeschooling!!!

i’ve been homeschooled all my life, and despite popular belief it does not (if you dont let it) cut down on you social life!

There are several homeschool groups out there that you can get to gether with, some offer classes that you parent/parents dont feel comfortable teaching such as highschool level science courses like chemistry, while other just offer a social environment and sports.

Yes, most homeschoolers do graduate early, i myself plan to graduate at 16.

Many colleges now are actualy requesting homeschool students because of their reputaion for being such great students…making the money they put into scholarships more worth while.

There is no reason not to home school because you want to go to college, my older brother ( who’s 16) started college this year, has a full-ride to UMKC, and is having no trouble with any of the honors classes.

Hi! Home schooling can be just as rewarding (granted it is a civil home environment) as public school.

You can find home schooling a more relaxed environment to study in, and pace yourself in learning. The benefits to home schooling are greater than public school, where you are told what to do with consequences that can be trying.

As a home schooling student you can develop your own personal self discipline methods, which can be a great asset to maturing into adulthood. You also become a self starter, and can develop leadership qualities.

The downside can be no people interaction. But if you have been abused by peers (students)/and or Teachers, you may relish studying on your own.

Home schooling is only one part of the learning process. Take the time to interact outside the home with a friend, it does not have to be a group, one can be fine, so you will be well rounded in your school development years.

Remember, you are in charge of your life, take charge and make your learning experience at home a fun and rewarding time. Stay focused on your studies, doing the best you can is always our 100%, and all the best to you in the future!

i think that a person should do what is best for them. i went to public school up until high school then i homeschooled. i graduated at 16 and had my associates degree by 18. now i have an awesome full time job and can support myself. if i hadnt have homeschooled, this wouldnt be possible. i stopped public school b/c i was being abused by a gang of guys and the school system wouldnt do anything about it. but thats okay because it worked out better anyway.

homeschooling involves a lot of hard work though. you have to be self-motivated, organized, and willing to get the work done. unlike public school, you dont have a teacher telling you to do your work, you dont have deadlines either so its all up to you to get the work done. homeschooling is also A LOT more expensive though. classes go from $200 to $600 a PIECE and most homeschooling programs dont buy back books…

public school is such a huge watse of time. HUGE WASTE of TIME. however, its WAY cheaper. (for you and your parents)

if your looking for a good course, check out Keystone National High School. They are acredited and issue out thier own diplomas. Its a great program…

The Cyber School is basically homeschooling with younger children. Parents do most of the teaching as a “teachers aid” and you send everything into the schools. I am an avid believer in home education but only when its done right. Using a cyber school is great for academics especially since he can work at his pace as long as you are giving him opportunites to socialize as well.

If you are a self motivated person you could home school yourself. I will give you an example, my younger cousin was getting picked on at school so at 16 he home schooled himself, studied for the GED and took the test. At 17 he was going to Airplane mechanic school. He knew what he wanted to do and was determined to do it. If you are just too lazy to get out of bed in the morning and you do not want to be under authority than homeschooling is not for you. If you can’t do what you are supposed to for others, how will you do it on your own?

It seems to me that the only reason you want to be homeschooled is because you can’t get out of bed in the morning?! If you can’t get out of bed to go to school, i seriously doubt you will have the motivation required to be homeschooled. I cannot see you graduating early, but doing nothing because that little bed of yours is oh so precious.

My advice. Get an alarm, get out of bed and go to school.

How about you take the GED early and go to college. If true that most homeschooled children are grades ahead of other public school children ,then we whould have a ton of younger aged college freshman students. I am sure you can get to college early if you test out.

It sounds like homeschooling is a great option for you!

I don’t have a set answer for your question. The only way I can respond is with, “Better for whom?” Everybody is different. Every family is different. We’ve chosen homeschooling for our kids for the time being, but that’s what we feel is best for our kids. Doesn’t mean we think everybody should do it.
