her hardest hue to hold

her eary leafs a flower

but only so an hour

then leaf subsides to leaf

This poem means nothing that seems perfect in life can last. Gold represents this perfection 🙂

I think that this poem by Robert Frost means that nothing that is good can last forever. Something may be good for a while, but eventually something bad will happen. This poem was featured in the book called “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, which was a very good novel.

I think it’s kind of talking about the changing seasons and changing moments in a person’s life as well. It’s talking about how nothing good (“golden”) can stay; all good things come to an end eventually.

It kinda sounds like the passing of seasons, and how short time can be.

With each year, spring comes, and so a new leaf and flower bloom. But in summer and fall, they die, and give way to a new flower and leaf in the next spring.

It means nothing lasts. All is dust in the wind. Beautiful and new at first, for a little while. You can’t hang on to things, time flows ever forward. Paradise lost.
