Tuition aid?

i got accepted into a school in chicago. this is the one school i have always wanted to go to, but now that i’m in, the money isn’t. i’m a united states resident, and i’m wondering what aid anyone has used (besides the school’s financial aid). Anybody use FASFA? i’ve heard alot about it, but it’s kinda confusing government jargon that i get when i read it. the help is much appreciated, thanks!

Completing the FAFSA is the best way to apply for financial aid. It allows you to be considered for federal, state, and institutional grants and low interest loans. If you complete the application on line it’s actually pretty easy. Just go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov fill out the application and have the results sent to the school. The aid office at the school will then determine the type and amount of aid you are eligible to receive. Don’t forget to check out scholarship options at http://www.finaid.org and at the school.

The FAFSA is the best way to obtain financial aid money. All you have to do is fill it out and then you’ll see if you are eligible for student loans.

If you do become eligible, you should definitely try to get a federal perkins loan. This is the best loan because the government will help you pay back interest as long as you are in school. The next best loans are subsidized Stafford loans, then unsubsidized Stafford loans, and then private loans. But never try to get a private loan because they have the highest interest rates.
