SE Wisconsin Home schooling – Where 2 start? What 2 do?

I would like to start homeschooling my child(preschool age)

A few months back I looked up homeschooling centers in my area…. I found one which worked with RUSD curriculam – a person was suppose to call me from there to discuss it more – but I have not received anything and I do not recall the name of the facility.

I would like to homeschool my child along with the RUSD curriculam in case I ever plan to send ’em to an actual school.

I am unaware of how this works…. such as gym, swim classes, arts, where to purchase items at, what works the best, how children bond with others since they are not in a school setting etc. so any HELPFUL information is apprecaited.

I live in SE Wisconsin and would like to start him in preschool ASAP.

Thank you in advance for help.

Serious answers only, please from WISCONSIN.

Insofar as homeschooling in your state I found a few links that might help.

Here are the laws:

And a few support group lists:

Insofar as particular cirricula, the sky is the limit. Since your child is young start with short simple lessons and spend time getting to know what type learner he/she is. Don’t invest a lot in particularly expensive materials or make a twelve year plan – he/she will change every year and not everything works for all children. This is a great time to concentrate on reading together and making learning fun.

Your local groups should have info on actvities avvailable to you – both in group and lessons/field trip ideas for your area. Most of the members would probably be happy to share their experiences and answer your questions.

Perhaps they could answer your question on RUSD as well as I found very little online about it. Additionally, it might be possible to get the state guidelines by grade and simply follow them if keeping up with the local school system is a concern for you.

Best of Luck to you!

We just lately moved to Wisconsin and considering that we had residence schooled in our prior state, we appeared into the Wisconsin laws. In the tip, we selected the Insight tuition in order that we did not must fear approximately curriculum, attendance and different required forms. It is an online, constitution tuition and it’s quality with LOTS of scholar and parental aid (loose, considering that it’s regarded a public tuition). Wisconsin does require a kind (it’s at the Wisconsin Dept. of Education web site) to begin homeschooling. You and/or your mother will must uncover out the opposite standards, I advise contacting the people indexed on your field at the HSLDA web site as main contributors for the arrangement.

pre-school is easy, go to a book store ang get some books age appropriate and start there. They have great work books that you can buy too at Barnes and Nobles.

As far as next year I would try Wisconsin Virtual Academy. They will then provide you with everything you need. The computer, printer, school supplies, books etc.
