Nothing is going to be free. Sorry.

You can either get the GED the old fashioned way, or save up your money.

What really bugs me about your question is that you are 19, with a baby and no money. I am a part owner of some rentals, and there are people there who own 4-wheelers, fancy cars, and lots of “toys”. They are also on welfare. Welfare was made to help people like you; people who need time to get on their feet, just a little push. I see so many people abusing it, and then there are people like you: someone who wants to get an education and use it.

There are high schools which offer night school. Some offer babysitting for free for single parents. There are also some programs available to people who want to get a GED…$$ for school, childcare, ect.

One thing you can do is go to the local library and check out books on math, science, history. Learn about stuff that interests you. Check out a book on preparing for the GED test. That can help you find out where you are lacking in your education and what to work on. Another thing you can do is post an ad at the library or a local church for a free tutor. Many people like to help in this way a couple days a week. Ask the librarians if they know of anyone willing to help you.

Good luck.

I don’t know of any that are free unless you happen to live in one of the states that has a public school on line option.

However, these sites have some some great free GED prep courses.

You might want to check into dual enrollment at a local community college. I obtained my high school diploma at the same time I earned college credits. And because I was taking the classes to get my diploma I didn’t have to pay any tuition. My credits were counted BOTH as high school credit and college credit simultaneously.

Also there are some on-line schools that average around $1000 per year, which isn’t bad since the price includes all of your materials. For information on this see http://www.aop.com

I just found out about this, http://www.connectionsacademy.com

It depends on your state, but you might qualify for this FREE on-line public school.

Contact your local public school district or county office of education. You don’t say where you live, but here in California, we have Virtual Academy, which is a charter school, and therefore a free, online public school. There may also be local continuation programs with childcare. You will also find more college and trade school/ROP program information. Congratulations on wanting to continue your education. Where there is a will, there’s a way!

Yes You should get your GED. Some classes are free. It depends on what state you live in. The public libraries have the GED books and cd roms that you can study from. Some of the GED classes and test are free but then again it depends on the state you live in. Just search it on the Internet and call your public library to see if they have the books:)

Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!! I hope you get it and I’m proud of you for bettering yourself for you and your son:)!!!!!!!

There are no free ones…. You even have to be careful with the ones you pay for…

the BEST online high school is Keystone national high school. I did a year of it, along with regular high schooling, jsut so i could graduate a year early.

Here is their site.

http://www.keystonehighschool.com/

and here is a research site if you want to research it further

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_National_High_School

but I can tell you personally, they are a REALLY good school, and rather in-expensive. It costs like 160 dollars per class, but you can pay in easy payments.

my total for one year of schooling was about 2200 dollars.

Good luck
