By having undeniably sensible reasons and negotiating politely.

Before addressing that, why is she so adamant about not letting you? Perhaps the socialization and extra curricular activities that a regular school offers may play an influence in her feelings.

You don’t say why she says “no”. As a parent myself, I would be not too mildly annoyed at a stranger trying to interfere with the guidance of my child.

Talk with her, Honey, and don’t argue. Give her a chance to help you understand why she has made the decision not to home school. Respect her answer and respect the fact that she is your mom and your mentor.

She may change her mind later……

Perhaps you can explain to your mom that you will work hard if she allows you to be homeschooled via the online school. Let he know that you realize that you are not doing well in school and strongly believe that the help the online school provides will help you to improve.

Of course, your mother will make the decision.

I hope things go well for you.

Make a list of pros and cons to the online school vs. the school you’re going to now. Explain how you were more able to thrive (and, yes, use the word “thrive”) at the online school and how detrimental it was for your personal growth to be placed in the 8th grade.

From what I understand, a lot of homeschooled kids or students who learn independently are able to learn faster than normally because they learn at their own pace and they develop a love for learning.

Good luck!

Here’s the thing with any relationship:

We don’t know until we ask.

If you just sit down and talk with her, let her know you’ve been thinking about online school again and what does she think of it, etc., you’ll have a good conversation with her. Maybe she’ll say yes, maybe she’ll say no, but getting it going and having her know how you feel about your current school situation is good regardless.

Try explaining to her and showing her how you are not doing so well in a regular public school and compare how you were doing online to now how you are not doing so well..
