I especially like their Adventures in Phonics workbooks which are great for teaching phonics. The workbooks are not fancy, but they get the job done. I have also used their kindergarten phonics readers which are colorful, have interesting stories, and are undeniably Christian. The characters in the readers are ethnically diverse and love for God and family is emphasized via their actions.

Their curriculum is great for kindergarten homeschooling, because you can pick and choose what you want. If you buy your books through Christian Liberty Press, you can purchase the entire curriculum or only the subjects you need/want. Anyway, back to your question. I love their curriculum. I am very happy with how my older children (4th and 2nd grade) are doing with their curriculum, and so far I haven’t seen anything I would replace it with, only add to it. The only subject so far that I might question is History. It appears that their curriculum does not cover the whole Columbus to Present timeline and history until 4th grade. I haven’t ordered that book yet this year. Then again, we still enjoyed their 3rd grade book last year, which was very insightful as far as what it was like to originally come to America as a colonist. My son is already using their 2nd grade book, and so far, I love it, and it has started some interesting conversations with my children. The first chapter is talking about how God has set up governments for us, etc. The history books are not set up, so far, as a chapter a week. That would be about 12 weeks of history content. But we read a little at a time and spend quite a bit of time enjoying and thinking through the activities.

I’m rambling, back to question. Once my children are high school age I am planning to use the Academy. I would like to have them take care of the transcrips and diploma, etc.I hope someone answeres your question who has experience with them about that. I will still probably be adding additional electives, and I guess a supplemental transcript?

My 5 year olds are autistic, and not ready for a kindergarten curriculum yet. So… we are not considering this year to be their kindergarten year. If all continues to go well… I will be getting their kindergarten curriculum from CLP next year. I was very surprised at just how well rounded that curriculum is! And I can’t wait for some of my children to start out their true homeschool with CLP, and continue on through. I didn’t pull Desta out of the PS system until she was in 3rd grade, and David was already in 1st grade, and I finished off he year last year with stuff I got from Edhelper.com and Enchantedlearning.com.

I doubt you will be disappointed with Christian Liberty Press, however you choose to use them as a resource.

Several families in our area have used, or are still using the CLASS program, and are very satisfied with the program.

I think they are a very good choice for starting out, since the $ investment will be minimal, and you can find out what works for you, and your child(ren).

Christian Liberty Press is not just a “boxed curriculum” since they put together their program from several different sources, making it as well rounded as you can get a prepared curriculum.

I also like the price and the fact that you can use them as an umbrella school complete with grading services, testing, and transcripts, or you can do it on your own, for an even better price.

all in all, it is a quality program, can’t think of anything negative to say. The negative we encountered while using it has been dealt with; my daughter did not do well with their math (modern curriculum press) and preferred Saxon, which they now use.

I use Spelling Power by Adams-Gordons. Studying God’s Word by Trulson. Old World History and Geography by Abeka. God’s Inspiring World by Rod and Staff for science. Modern Curriculum Press for math. Language Arts we use Rod and staff.
