When you apply for financial aid, what happens after you print out the SAR(Student Aid Report)?
Its my first time applying for financial aid and I seriously don’t know how long it is going to take for the money to come in so my classes can be paid.
Thank you for your time.

The SAR has also been sent to your school. They school may contact you and ask you to submit more forms to the finanical aid office. After you submit the necessary forms from the school, you should be expecting a Financial Aid Award Letter.

The SAR is your copy, the school will get a copy. They use it to apply on your behalf for any funds that you may be eligible for (Pell, Stafford, etc). Most schools says to wait about 4-6 weeks before results come in, but a lot will be faster than that. If they know you will definitely have aid coming in a lot of them will simply enroll you on credit and take it out of your financial aid; it’ll take a bit longer that way but the next semester/quarter will be easier since you’re now established.

The SAR is the result you receive; schools receive an electronic version called an ISIR. If you have already received your SAR then your school should have certainly received the ISIR by now if you listed them as a recipient. You should talk to a financial aid officer at your school for more information. Good luck!
