I do not know how the government could afford to fund year around school. Cuts are being made all over the place. So this means classes are being cut.. This would then mean more money for administration. I feel kids need a break. Summer vacation is part of a kids life. Something they look forward to. Where I am from due to the high price of gas. Some school are going to school four days week. Giving the kids Fridays. But the other four school days are extend just over an hour. I think this is a good idea. Give the kids a longer weekend. Many of the school are failing in the governments standards testing. So why keep pushing for year around school if the gov is going to keep cutting class.

Some shoo ls as a matter of economy, the use of buildings that are idle over the summer, and overcrowding, provide for school all 12 months. They do however alternate the faculty and students so that they still obtain a 2 1/2 to 3 month vacation period.

I do think that both faculty and students need a break and should have some time to spend with their families.

Bad idea! Parts of the world are working hard to turn children into adults at the age of 9. Let’s keep our kids kids and give them summer breaks, and chances to have fun, play and be free. They have enough of life afterward to be miserable and work till they die.

too much work and not enough rest may cause inefficiency. 9 months is so much better. that would also mean we’d be studying all year round and no likes that. plus, the heat can sometimes hinder working properly. 🙂

nin months is fine, just give them many more smaller breaks instead of the long 2+ months in the summer.
