Is there any way i can get a scholarship?

I’ve been out of high school two years pretty much just working and playing. I want to go to college but my school record isn’t great. My gpa was 3.4, i got a 1243 out of 1600 on my sat, my mom is a nurse but due to certain circumstances she can’t help me, but she makes too much for me to get need based financial aid. I barely have any voleenteer work or club activity, just a year in student government. anyone know any good scholarship programs or sits i can try?

A 3.4 is pretty damn good. I would only suggest that you take the ACT. I am not familiar with what schools require for the SAT test, but with the ACT you can usually get in with a 18. Before enrolling into a community college just began checking out schools to see the requirements for admissions.

With Scholarships: the requirements ranges for scholarships. So you can’t just take your GPA you must look at other things.

check the schools you plan to apply to, they usually have scholarships and searches for you.

Also, check fraternities and sororities.

As you determine the best way to finance your education, you should consider the full range of student financial aid options available. Private Student Loans from ChaseStudentLoans.com can be used either alone or when federal loans, grants and other forms of financial aid are not sufficient to cover the full cost of higher education.

Free money for college is available from a variety of sources and can come in the form of scholarships and grants. Both are an attractive way to pay because you do not need to repay the money. They are available from a variety of sources, including federal and state governments and private sources, such as employers, professional associations, and educational institutions. Some grants and scholarships are based on financial need, while others are awarded based on achievement, religious affiliation, ethnicity, memberships, hobbies, or special interests.

find your local community college. you had 3.4 which is very good enough for a junior college or community one. when you get int, apply for a certain scholarship. Choose a subject you are good at, then search in internet, print an application(a current one or 2008) turn in before deadline. Write a good essay if required.

Go to a financial aid advisor and look for grants. They often are particularly for people getting back into school. It is cheaper at a community college. They had one just for me (or so it seems) when I asked.
