If you resign from university, do you get your funds back. PLEASE HELP!?
I have a friend that is from overseas that was studying in Australia.
half way through semester one she decided to resign to seek other studies else where.
she has paid $8800 for 4 units and completed 3.
if she does the 4th unit in semester 2 the $2200 will go there.
If she does not she will lose the $2200.
is this correct.? is this what usually happens?
or is it because she is a foreign student and does not have those benefits?
I think this is wrong.
Please advise

If you quit before the first couple of weeks, then you may get at least some tuition back. You don’t get everything back because the university has already hired the professors, made arrangements for you to study, given you a place to live (and more than likely denied someone ELSE the same spot), so they have every right to keep the money. They’re not responsible for your change of plans.

That is the standard procedure although you can always appeal to them to return to you a reasonable amount of the tuition fees although most of the time they’ll take a huge chunk for administrative purposes.
