You don’t necessarily have to fill out the FAFSA to receive aid. Contact the financial aid department of your school. You do have a close deadline, but you may be able to find some aid. It might have to be a loan, but if it gets you through the semester, it could be worth it.

Give them a call or pay them a visit. They want your tuition, they will find a way for you to attend.

Good luck!

You can still complete the FAFSA. You should do so on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov so that it will be processed quickly (electronic processing takes about 3 days where as paper processing can take up to 3 weeks). However, even doing it electronically will not guarantee that your aid eligibility will be determined prior to your bill being due. I suggest waiting a couple of days before your bill is due and, if you aid isn’t finalized, talking to the aid and business offices to see if you can receive a postponement of your bill or only be required to pay a portion.

You might want to try fastweb.com and also look into loans from banks (but if you are doing this go for a bank that does not over advertise like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Washington Mutual, etc.). However, the first thing you should do is to try to submit your FAFSA application and also contact your college’s financial aid office, many colleges offer EOP (http://www.csumentor.edu/planning/eop/)

you always have more time, but get everything in ASAP! missing deadlines and competing in first-come-first-serve scholarships and being late for them could mean a lot of money you could have gotten. so act fast!

It can’t hurt to apply for financial aid as soon as you can and see what you can get.
