How to obtain credit while being only 17?
I was wondering if there are ways I can obtain credit while I am 17. I plan on attending college and do not have money to pay for it so I would need to get a student loan. There is no way I can get a cosigner, so in order to get a student loan I need to obtain credit. Anyone been in this situation or would know a way I could get credit?

Before you think about taking out a Private Loan, do your FAFSA Application! It will save you at least $3500 in Private Loan Borrowing. You will need your tax information (if you filed) and also your parent(s) tax information to complete the FAFSA. Under schools to receive information, list all the colleges that you are interested in so that they receive your information. Once you decide on a school, call the Financial Aid office and make sure they have your info. From there, you should be awarded a Financial Aid package and call see what you will owe in tuition, fees, room / board, etc.

well lets see you will need a co signer anyways because you are more than likely not going to build a lot of credit by the time you need the loan. plus most banks will not let a young adult take out money w/o a cosigner infact not at least until you are 21-24.
You depending on your situation will most likely receive financial aid. You do that before you go to college it will offer you student loans… etc. Also you can apply for scholarships and grants. those are much better than loans.
