goverment grants?

Is there such a thing as free money from the goverment. I hear about these grants for education and supposedly you don’t have to pay them back. I am currently an online college student. I am wondering if there is anything out there to help me pay the bills. Does anyone have any info. I could use? I get on line and check but, Theres always a fee.

Yes, TAP (this is the name of NY states educational grant program, your state would have a different name) and PELL (Federal educational grant program) are state and federal grants given by the government to students with certain incomes. The lower income you have the more state and federal aid you qualify for. You do not have to pay it back but there are certain requirements to be eligable. You need to be a citizen or legal resident of the US, you have to be enrolled in an accredited college/university/school (in most cases full time), you need to keep your grades up (passing), and you need to fall within the income guidelines. If you live with your parents or gardian (someone who supports you), their income is taken into consideration.

The best place to start is to talk to your schools financial aid office, it has to be an accredited school. I’m assuming that if you are unaware of these grant programs that you are not attending an accredited school. If it’s not, I’d suggest to changing schools. Most accredited schools now have online choices if needed. Most colleges and universities are accredited. Regardless of what state you live in, you can apply for these grants with the FASFA application, which is available online or at your nearest college campus.

Here’s the website to learn more and apply:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

Additionally, on the application they ask if you are interested in student loans also. My advice is to check “no”. If you decide to apply for stuent loans later, you’ll be able too. Also, if you live on your own, do not include your parents income. If you do live with them, or they support you, their income has to be included on the application.

Lastly, don’t be fooled/scammed by other websites that offer financial aid. FASFA is what you want to look into.

Good luck to you!

relies upon the place you reside. In NZ, particular. In oz., you’ve gotten the skill to get some government money to help with incidental expenses *if* you sign up as a house educator. I *think of* you may in areas of Canada too yet there the money is tied on your following the government’s curriculum etc. the optimal quantity available is constrained to three hundred money a three hundred and sixty 5 days. you’re by no skill going to make money out of homeschooling; or perhaps the place government provides do exist they gained’t come on the brink of protecting the fee of to any extent further centers (physio, speech scientific care etc) that your disabled newborn desires, no longer in case you reside in a u . s . the place you may pay for such centers quite than getting them by skill of way of your u . s .’s public healthcare equipment.
