You will not be receiving any money from FAFSA – the FAFSA is just a form that is completed to determin your EFC (Expected Family Contribution). Schools use the EFC in conjunction with the COA (Cost of Attendance) to determine a student’s financial aid package.

If you already have an award that pays your tuition and you have no other expenses owed to the school since you are living at home, you should receive a refund of the $2030 as long as you are going full time (it is adjusted if you go less than full time).

If you have the same situation come Spring Semester (having the award that pays for your tuition, you are living at home, and you are going full time) you should receive the other $2030.

Pell is awarded/disbursed by semester or quarters, depending on your school. It will be divided in half for semester schools (Fall/Spring) or in thirds for quarter schools (Fall/Winter/Spring). You would need to check with your school regarding the disbursement schedule. Schools cannot disburse funds more than 10 days prior to the first day of class. Some wait until after final drop/add.

You should talk to a financial aid officer at your school for further information. Good luck!

The pell grant will pay your school $2030.00 per semester, payable one time each semseter. Any leftover, not used for tuition, books, room & board or other viable university charges will be refunded directly to you. FAFSA and Pell are the same thing, actually, you apply to FAFSA to receive a Pell…Pell grants never have to be paid back…

What is bogfw-b?

I am currently enrolled in school and we get our checks at the beginning of the semester. Since you have a family contribution they will deduct the 470 from your check. I don’t know if this help so maybe you should talk to someone from your financial aid department……..You might get 1,560

They will send you or the school the money directly. Be warned that any amount you borrow now may be held and accrue interest until you get out of school…then come the payments. They will stick it to you…..I advise to only borrow the min. of what you need.
