Do student loans cover the cost of on-campus housing?

I go to a community college right now, and my husband is wanting to go back to school, and I am transferring to Wright State University. They have on-campus housing for married couples, and I was wondering if the government student loans I receive will cover the cost while we are in school. This would be the only way we could both go to school, since we would not be able to work full time., If anyone knows how this works please let me know. btw, private student loans(from the bank) are out of the question.

Yes, loans from the government are meant o cover, tuition, books, room and board etc. When you complete your FAFSA application and list the school you want to attend, the school should be including housing costs in the amount it costs to attend their college

Since the on-campus housing is available for married students, you would be able to apply for financial aid both from the university and the government to cover that cost. Since it would merely be added to the tutition as a room and board cost. I have several friends who are full time law students who fall into a similar situation since most law schools do not permit first year students to work.

Your best bet though is to call Financial Aid at WSU and ask them what they suggest. And make sure they know that BOTH of you are/will be enrolled.

Yes= student loans are used to cover any educational related expense. Room and Board is educational related, so is a computer, transportation and maybe even child care if it applies.
